Master Nick Brinklow – Owner & Head Coach

Nick is Jeon-sa Taekwondo's founder and Chief Instructor. He has worked as a professional Taekwondo instructor since 2001 and has over 20 years experience within the martial arts.

 

He had a successful competitive career, winning various competitions throughout the UK and has since trained numerous national and international medallists. Nick works closely with the GB Taekwondo Development Pathway and has produced some of the countries most exciting young fighters.

 

He regularly visits South Korea, 'The Home of Taekwondo’ and
has trained with some of Korea's elite taekwondo teams, including
the Korea National Sports University (KNSU) and Hanseong Taekwondo teams.

 

Nick also took part in the Test Event for the Beijing Olympic Qualifiers at the MEN Arena, in Manchester in 2007 and more recently played a key role in the delivery of the Sport England backed Grand Prix Legacy Programme. He has also provided self defence training for the NHS.

Cath Kelly - Manager

Cath is the Academy & Team Manager and is responsible for memberships, administration, competition and travel arrangements.

 

Cath takes care of much of the day to day running of the Academy
and plays an active part in student/athlete development.

 Chris Thomas – Coach

 

• 3rd Dan Black Belt, WTF/Kukkiwon Registered

• Registered British Taekwondo Instructor

• First Aid trained

 

Chris began his training at Halton Taekwondo, in Widnes in 1987, where he trained for a number of years under the instruction of UTA’s Dave Bailey. He has had medal success on the competition circuit, including a Bronze medal at International Open level.

 

Chris joined the Jeon-sa Taekwondo team in 2005 and has since trained in Korea and graded to 3rd Dan Black Belt. Chris is also
Jeon-sa Taekwondo’s Head of Marketing.

 

Lorraine Kerr – Coach

 

• 2nd Dan Black Belt, WTF/Kukkiwon Registered

• Registered British Taekwondo Instructor

• Level 2 Qualified Coach

• Advanced DBS (CRB) Clearance

• First Aid trained

 

Lorraine first started training in Taekwondo in 1981 whilst residing in Seoul, South Korea. Various commitments and a debilitating illness unfortunately prevented her from continuing with her training for a number of years. Lorraine restarted Taekwondo in 2009 and has since graded to 2nd Dan Black Belt. Lorraine has a background in teaching and leads the Little Warriors programme for 4-5 year olds.

 

 

Nathan Hall – COACH/HEAD PHYSIO

Nathan has a wealth of knowledge and experience as a former full time GB Taekwondo funded athlete and current Professional Physio. Nathan is a 5 x National Taekwondo Champion, a World University Games Bronze Medallist and Common Wealth Silver Medallist. Nathan competed at the 2005 World Championships in Madrid and retains close links with the GB Taekwondo Academy.

 

 

 

Ross Wier Marques Ferriera – Coach

• Advanced DBS (CRB) Clearance

• First Aid trained

 

Ross began his Taekwondo training with Clube Taekwondo Portimão, whilst living in Portugal. Ross joined the Jeon-sa Taekwondo team upon moving to the UK in 2012 and has since achieved 1st Dan Black Belt. He is one of the Academy's most decorated athletes having won medals at numerous competitions both in the UK and Europe.

 

 

IAN DILLEY – COACH

Ian started taekwondo in 2001 at the University of Southampton Taekwondo club, where he participated in numerous national and student events and achieved full university colours. He later trained with Bishop's Stortford Taekwondo Club (TAGB), in Hertfordshire, before returning to WTF Taekwondo with Jeon-sa in 2012 where he achieved his 1st Dan Black Belt. Ian is also Jeon-sa's official club / event photographer.

 

 

 

EMMA COLECLOUGH – SAFEGUARDING OFFICER

 

• Advanced CRB (DBS) Clearance

• First Aid trained

 

Emma is the club safeguarding officer and is responsible for promoting a safe environment for children and young people. The safety and wellbeing of our students is paramount and Emma ensures that safeguarding policies and practices are adhered to. Emma is an NHS Nurse and has been involved in taekwondo for several years.
